[EN] -- Ingemmet, as the national governing body of geology and in compliance with article 35 of Supreme Decree No. 013-2002-EM, indicates in its operational plan the Technical Assistance to Small Mining and Artisanal Mining Producers, which in 2014 covered the southern area of the Ayacucho and Huánuco regions, with the recognition of 70 artisanal mining centers and technical assistance to more than 350 miners in the mining formalization process. The study area covered approximately 22,784 km2. In the southern zone of Ayacucho, 49 mining centers were recognized in 7 work zones (Huac Huas, Otoca, Puquio, Huanca, Palca, Chaipi and Pausa). The area in question presents igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks that go from the Mesozoic to the recent Quaternary, with greater presence of volcanic sequences. The mineralization in the zone is observed in veins that fill faults of orientation N30°O, N35°E, with variable inclinations, that present mineralization of Au and base metals. The main minerals are quartz, bornite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and iron oxides. The Huánuco region covers an approximate area of 15,790 km2, where 21 mining centers are recognized in 6 work zones (Churubamba, Yanas, Mosca, Alto Marañón, Cachapata and Puerto Inca). The zone indicates that the rocks have an age range that goes from the Precambrian to the recent Quaternary, with a greater presence of metamorphic rocks in the area of mountains and sedimentary rocks in the lowlands and plains. Artisanal mining in this region is incipient, the few centers visited are proof of this and its activity is basically linked to the extraction of the alluvial mineral. The representative areas are: the Marañón River and the Pachitea River. The artisanal miners who were assisted are immersed in the mining formalization process, and approximately 60% of them are in the sanitation stage. This consists of the teaching of the use of the compass, the determination of the mineralization style, the zoning of the mineralization and some aspects of mining safety and hygiene.
