About the ingemmet Institutional Repository
The Institutional Repository is a service that gathers, preserves and disseminates in digital and open access format, the intellectual production of the Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute - Ingemmet, its address is: https://repositorio.ingemmet.gob.pe
Objectives:
- Provide a single point of access to digital publications produced by Ingemmet, ensuring that all documents are available in full text and freely accessible to the scientific community and the general public.
- Increase the visibility and impact of Ingemmet's scientific and technical production, both regionally and globally, by facilitating its dissemination and consultation.
- Guarantee the safe and long-term preservation of Ingemmet's digital publications, ensuring their integrity and continued long-term availability.
- Provide detailed statistics on access to and consultation of IIngemmet publications in order to assess their reach and impact.
Type of Information accepted in the Institutional Repository:
- Scientific and technical publications edited by the institution.
- Documents published by researchers affiliated with Ingemmet.
- Representative documents of institutional memory that must be preserved.
- Documents from institutions preceding Ingemmet.
The Institutional Repository promotes Open Access to information, ensuring the free and open availability of its full-text content without technical or economic barriers.
The Institutional Library is responsible for registering publications in the Institutional Repository, ensuring that the process complies with the standards and norms established for the registration of metadata, ensuring the quality, coherence and correct organization of the contents.

Content policy
- The Repository is organized into Communities → Collections → Items, with five communities that include geological bulletins, technical-historical documents, technical studies and reports, scientific papers and articles, and institutional publications.
- The hosted content is of a technical-scientific nature, and the publications must be signed with institutional affiliation of Ingemmet.
- Documents must be final versions approved by the Organic Units, with due authorization from the author for their dissemination.
- The inclusion of preprints, postprints or published versions of articles follows the editorial policies of the journals, which can be consulted at Sherpa/RoMEO.
- Articles from indexed journals are incorporated into open access as permitted by editorial policies.
Copyright Policy
- The documents hosted in the Institutional Repository are protected by Peruvian Copyright Legislation.
- Open access publications will be distributed under the Creative Commons License 4.0.
Metadata Policy
- Metadata is recorded under the Dublin Core scheme and the guidelines of the ALICIA Guide 2.0.1.
- The Institutional Repository uses the OAI-PMH interoperability protocol, which facilitates its integration into local and international indexing systems. Any collector, library or user can access the metadata.
Digital preservation policy
- Documents will be stored indefinitely, unless justified for their removal, ensuring their continued accessibility and readability.
- If a document is updated, it will be recorded as a new version.
- Documents will be migrated to new formats and the Institutional Repository management software will be updated as necessary.
